Treatment Options
The aim of this page is to help the person who is considering eye correction procedures, to decide which technique is best and most appropriate for them.
The types of procedures which are available to correct eyesight problems are listed. For each procedure the potential range of prescription that can be treated is shown. What is possible will vary somewhat from one patient to another and this information should be considered an approximate guide only. Mr Heaven does not necessarily perform all of these procedures himself.
All of the above laser procedures may correct up to 4 Dioptres of astigmatism.
Explanatory notes
Shortsight (myopia) prescritions have minus (-) values
Longsight (hyperopia) prescriptions have plus (+) values
* Also known as Clear Lens Extraction, Refractive Lens Exchange and Presbyopic Lens Exchange
** Monovision is where the focus of one eye is set for distance vision and the focus of the other is set for near vision. By this means, reading spectacles can be avoided for those over the age of 45.
